"The first time I seen his instagram art page, I was convinced that he knew what he's doing. This is the first blog piece for the series Meet the Plug!" - Juvi Gotti ---Interview--- JUVI GOTTI: WHAT NAME DO YOU GO BY ? WHY DO YOU GO BY THIS NAME ? JULIO MUSE: My name is Julio España but i go by Decarabi. I chose the name from the word “decarab” which is a name of a young demon. A beautiful demon who enjoys the companionship and also rallies souls by seduction. So disregard the word “demon” but focus and enjoy the part of seduction. Because that's what I spend my life doing. Trying to seduce the minds and hearts of people through my art and, nothing is better than to feel that connection and express through an artistic environment. That artistic environment brings you companionship. JUVI GOTTI: HOW DO YOU GET THE INSPIRATION FOR YOUR WORK ? JULIO MUSE: I get my inspiration for my work from about anything. From looking at a rock or Leonardo Da Vinci’s drawings. There's nothing specific, but the majority of the time it's from people. We're always surrounded by people. At home, school, work, on the streets at your favorite deli, or coffee shop. There's always going to be people and I'm a people’s person. I enjoy the company and fragrance that people bring. Good or bad, there's always something to learn and experience. That experience inspires ideas and those ideas can be from the words spoken or their body language. Ideas just don't come from what you see physically but what you can see in your imagination when you hear words. Even a feeling such as being overwhelmed or loved inspire visuals in your mind, ideas which brings the creations, the creations that become the artwork I do. JUVI GOTTI: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING ART ? JULIO MUSE: The question “How long have you been doing art?” Is always a tricky question because, I've always been drawing since i was about 5 in kindergarten but it wasn't until my junior year in high school where i became interested in it and then it wasn't until my freshman year in college where it became my passion. “I've been doing this my whole life.” I would like to say, but it wasn't until a year and half ago where it became something to me, where it has truly been an inspiration to look at my own work and push it forward. To create pieces of work for people to buy. Working on commissions/inquiries. A year and half ago is where it became my platform to start my legacy. JUVI GOTTI: ARE THERE ANY ARTISTS THAT YOU LOOK UP TO ? JULIO MUSE: There aren't any artists I look up to but I have been inspired by a few. One of them is Leonardo Da Vinci. I'm not talking about his Mona Lisa or any of his paintings, but his simplistic drawings such as his self portraits, fetus drawings, some girl's head, his studies of the human skull and, so on. His sketches were amazing and surely became a frame to where I tried to do the same. Picasso's paintings inspired me to do works of color. Most of Picasso’s best paintings were so good because of how he displayed emotions through color. If you google “Picasso’s Blue Period” you will get various works of paintings where he used blue as a very strong element to reveal the sadness and depression through the artwork to the point where you can feel it. That's what “artwork” is. To display emotion for you to actually feel it. Through a visual or sound. My final inspiration is Andrew Ellis (“Andrew” is my best guess on how his first name is spelled) but he surely goes by strongly as Spiff Ellis and by Kingspiff on instagram. He's different. That's all I got to say. He's different. He's what got me to do digital art and producing and become passionate about it. I ain't passionate because of him, I'm passionate about it because I'm great at it. I've adventured through a new way of creating art that I never have and realized that I enjoy and love doing it. My first few digital works were influenced off his pieces and ideas but little by little I became more original and, based my work off my personality and, learned new ways of expressing new feelings and visuals. Listening to his beats, his productions, push me to become better at producing my beats. Producing is definitely something i want to and will get better at. JUVI GOTTI: WHAT STOPS YOU FROM GIVING UP ? JULIO MUSE: I've never thought of giving up when it comes to my work. It's what keeps me same. I tell everyone “Expression is the best healing.”, only because...it's true. When it comes to my artwork, i never think of giving up but only to push harder. It's where i trap all my emotions into. Especially into producing, you can “hear” how I feel. Expressing is what will save you in this lifetime, spend the time you can experiencing new things and finding a way to express yourself. We are here to create. JUVI GOTTI: WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AND THE HUSTLE IN 3 YEARS?...5 YEARS? JULIO MUSE: Where I see myself in the future is always a tough one. Only because I don't focus too much on future. Most of my energy and mind is focused on now. “What am i doing now?” and, “What will i do right after?” are the two questions I ask myself. I bang out this one piece, okay what's next. I don't look too far ahead but if I were to give my best plan and goal; it's to own my own gallery and studio. Where i will be getting paid to have both. A gallery where i have my art displayed to be purchased. Where other visual artist would pay me to display their art to purchased as well and a studio where students/artists can rent monthly to create. A plan to be worked through and thought about more but all that matters to me is creating. Doesn't matter what or how. As long as I am creating and expressing myself in the process, I'm living. JUVI GOTTI: WHERE CAN FANS FIND YOU ? WHAT ARE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA HANDLES ? JULIO MUSE: I am currently only on Instagram. I have had thoughts of expanding to other social medias but as of now I can be found on Instagram @ decarabi. Through Instagram is where you can contact me for artwork. We can work together to get your ideas brought to life, discuss them, and how to express them in the most beautiful way. I also take questions that you may have, that haven't been answered here, through direct message. Never hesitate to contact me. Bless and enjoy creating. ---End Of Interview---
